Disclosure: marking posts as advertising

How to label posts so your audience knows you can earn commission. Required by law.

  • Label every paid post
  • #ad, #werbung, #reclame, #publicitĂ©
  • Up front, not hidden in hashtags

Every post that includes your link or code, promotes Jhilke Studio for commission, or shows a print we gifted you is advertising. EU consumer law and platform rules require you to say so clearly, in the post itself.

How to do it

  • Use the platform's paid partnership label where it has one, and tag Jhilke Studio.
  • Also say it in plain words, where people see it before they click or buy: at the start of the caption, on screen, or spoken at the start of a video.
  • Use a clear tag for your audience's language: #ad, #anzeige or #werbung (German), #reclame (Dutch), #publicitĂ© (French), #publicidad (Spanish), #pubblicitĂ  (Italian).

Not enough on its own

  • A tag hidden among other hashtags, or after "more".
  • Only tagging @jhilkestudio, which does not tell viewers that you earn commission.
  • Vague words such as "thanks to", "collab" or "sp".

Example caption

#ad I earn commission if you order through my link. This Annapurna Circuit print from @jhilkestudio is the trek I did in 2024, and it finally lives on my wall.

Your creator page already states that you earn commission. Your posts still need their own label.
